You know, cause I’m getting all kinds of things and people are mean.’ And Mami would look at me and go, ‘You’re Zoe.’ And I’d go, ‘I know, Mami, but what am I?’ And she would look at me and say, ‘You’re my daughter, your grandma’s granddaughter, you’re Zoe.’ My mom wouldn’t go, ‘tu eres una mujer de color and always remember it, this world is going to be rough.’ My mom never f****** told us that, why would she? Zoe Saldana graces the cover of the premiere issue of “Cosmopolitan for Latinas,” a new women’s lifestyle magazine targeted at English-speaking Latinas that will be hitting newsstands May 1.
We don’t know if Saldana talked about dating Bradley Cooper, but she does talk about being a Latina (she was born in Passaic, N.J., to a Puerto Rican mother and Dominican father).
“People think of Latina women as being fiery and fierce, which is usually true. But I think the quality that so many Latinas possess is strength. I’m very proud to have Latin blood.”
Readers also can connect with Cosmopolitan for Latinas on myriad social platforms, including Twitter (@CosmoForLatinas), Facebook (Facebook.com/CosmoForLatinas) and Pinterest (Pinterest.com/CosmoForLatinas). The magazine’s web site, www.CosmoForLatinas.com, will go live on May 1.
