“We’re a team,” says President Barack Obama. In our April issue, he and First Lady Michelle Obama talk about their life as parents, their marriage, and their vision for America’s families.

What Mid-Life Crisis? She looks great!
Everyone knows about Michelle Obama’s lovely dress. But Who is Thom Brown?
1. Browne, 47, whose business is based in New York, is most famous for his menswear, especially his neatly-tailored suits.
2. He just debuted a line of bizarre square-shaped top hats.
3. Before launching his own label, he lead the design team at Club Monaco.3
4. Browne was named the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Menswear Designer of the Year in 2006 — Tom Ford won the same prize in 2008 — and named the GQ Designer of the Year in 2008.
5. Some of his womenswear is a little, er, out there, but Michelle’s bespoke dress was based on the pattern of one of Browne’s ties.
Everyone is obsessed with the bangs, but most importantly I love the First Lady’s fashion sense. She’s wearing Thom Browne and he comes from the menswear side of the business. The coat is made of a tie silk and he recently made a womenswear collection. This is a guy who’s business is still quite small. He recently got an investment from a Japanese firm. He’s quite the insiders designer. Mrs. Obama switched it up after with J. Crew accessories. Of course, Sasha and Malia are wearing J. Crew.

THEIA Brocade Party Dress | China Glaze ‘First Mate’ Nail Lacquer | China Glaze ‘Recycle’ Nail Lacquer | J. Crew ‘Everly’ pink suede pumps
The first night of the 2012 DNC was packed with inspirational, heartfelt speeches, powerful politicians and one uber-fabulous First Lady. Michelle Obama as always, delivered an incredible speech about her husband, President Barack Obama, including the quote of the night: “Being President doesn’t change who you are. It reveals who you are.” And she did so looking stunning in a two-tone brocade custom Tracy Reese dress. The A-line style dress featured a tank top, which showed off her toned arms, a slim bodice and slightly flared skirt that hit just below the knee, revealing her toned legs. The top portion of the frock featured a pink-colored brocade design, while the bottom hem was a bluish-gray. The First Lady kept her accessories simple, wearing only earrings and J. Crew ‘Everly’ pink suede pumps. Also, she wore a blue-gray nail polish (the brand and color we’ve yet to find out). Since her dress was custom-made, you can’t get it (not yet anyway – but maybe the designer will eventually produce it for the masses?), here are a few options, plus accessories and nail polish, to get you looking First Lady-like!
Here are the J. Crew Shoes .
Check out the following Nail Polishes that are similar to what the First Lady wore:

Shop: Essie’s Chinchilly ($8) and Maybelline Impeccable Greys ($4.99).
